Yesterday, animal care experts from SeaWorld Orlando transported a stranded Atlantic spotted dolphin from Gulf World Marine Park after it had been rescued by the facility Tuesday morning near Panama City Beach.
The team arrived at SeaWorld’s Cetacean Rehabilitation Facility around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
While at Gulf World, the 240 lb female spotted dolphin was monitored and stabilized until SeaWorld’s Animal Rescue Team could arrive to transport her back to Orlando for continued care.
She was moved to SeaWorld due to lack of rehabilitation space at Gulf World.‪
Once she arrived at SeaWorld Orlando she received fluids and ate a half-pound of squid – a cautious, but good sign, according to park vets.
The dolphin will continue to receive monitored care and rehabilitation. ‪

UPDATE: Today the dolphin continues to receive fluids and is eating on a regular basis. She is receiving around the clock supervision from SeaWorld animal care experts and park vets are happy with her progress. SeaWorld has said they will keep us updated.
